Outing Myself.

I've had a deep, dark secret for a while. I've worked in stealth trying to conceal this habit from nearly everyone I know. It's been tough. It's been painful. Finally I'm ready to admit it.

I read comic books.

Yes, I'm one of those geeky guys that's still reading them. I can't help it. They're so damn entertaining. Lately I've been reading heaps of graphic novels. Really, these are just comic books for adults. Holy crap, they're so good.

One of the best series I've been reading has now been adapted into a motion picture. Sin City was drawn and written by Frank Miller. I'm a sucker for anything noir and this graphic series doesn't disappoint. The film comes out this weekend. Yes, I'll be one of the nerds standing in line, anxious to get a peek.

Who's nerdier, the guy who reads comic books because he's been reading them his whole life, or the one who just started, and enjoys them just as much?

I think the king of nerds is the guy that's been reading them all his life and enjoyed them throughout. That'd be me...

Been there, done that, back into it. Comics are great my wife hates the fact there are comics sitting around my office at home. Anyoo--Vavoom. Shy away from the carbon and aluminum tourers. You can't be the ride of Steel if your trucking long distances. The TREK 520 is nearly unbeatable for a complete tourer. Its a little pricey but its well worth it. Otherwise, check out eBay and search for the Windsor Touring bike. Comes complete and could give the 520 a run for its money. Also, the Bianchi Vople is a sweet allrounder bike, supporting fenders and racks you'd be good to go. The Volpe is around $700 complete, super great bike, I'd like to have one in my armada...

I'm a huge tarantino fan. I have Mr. White's gun from resevoir dogs on my dresser. I guess we're both nerds. except guns are cooler than pulp i think. jp

I once had a boyfriend addicted to comics and we would argue endlessly about comics and their ability to be literature. God it seems so stupid of me now...he definitely put me into my place, gave me a book about comics as an art--it was excellent, can't remember the title.

Nonetheless I think it's great you unabashedly admit to being a geek. He was never able to do that.

I saw it. It was ok but I did not leave the theatre really decided on if I liked it or not. I have not read these graphic novels but I did follow comics a way back around the time all the artist left marvel to start their own company(I think it was called Mirage).
