A Simple Question.

Stop. Take a look around you. Take a deep breath. Now, answer this question: Are you being true to yourself? Meaning, are you really doing what, deep down inside, you know you should be doing with your life? If not, why?

It's been about a year since I started "growing up." And when this happened is when I started being true to myself, which led me to be true to those around me. I'm finding that it's pretty intimidating to other's.

With a smile in my heart, I can honestly say yes. Changing majors my senior year may have been crazy to some, but everything has kept on improving since then. For once in my life I'm truly looking forward to what the future holds.

Thanks to vavoom, I am doing what I should be doing. After ten years of going the wrong direction, he turned me around.

Yes, I finally am.
After 8 years I am finally working in the field that I love. And I feel content now.

Yes, but it took me 23 years. I quit the executive suite to teach. It's been the happiest three years of my life.

I can truly say I have finally arrived. Life is nothing more than a series of choices - and for a long time I made very bad ones. I'm so glad I came around - I'm happily married with a beautiful daughter and I'll be retired before I'm 50. I love what I do for now - and in 15 years when I retire I'll be young enough to do something else I love.

Nope, but it could be a lot worse! I'm too old and too far in debt to change now. I should have gone into the animal sciences instead of the social sciences.

actually, funny to see this question now. Although Im not in the scenario I would like to be, yes, I am being true to myself, upholding what I beleive although there are costs to it.

I knew the kind of life I wanted to live when I was in 5th Grade, and worked hard for it from that point forward. I am living my dream, but I just wish I had the money and time to do a bit of traveling.

I just don't know yet.

I kind of switched fields going into grad school, from working in biotech to now doing physical chemistry and atmospheric chemistry.

I'm not sure if it will pay off in a rewarding career that I'll enjoy for a long time, but I can always hope!

Nope. I'm either not doing enough or doing too much. I think this will help me remain a walking contradiction.

I love it. And the answer is yes, for the what is there to love? answer is ME. Being loving with myself is doing what I love. Does that sound whacky?
